[Aug 16][Inuyasha] Circular
Title: Circular
Series: Inuyasha (is this the first one?)
Day/Theme: August 16th / Kingdom of the mad
Character/Pairing: Kagome(/Inuyasha)

Oftentimes, Kagome finds herself wondering whether this all might a hallucination. She plays with the idea that perhaps, when she fell into the well, she got knocked in the head a bit too hard and imagined herself to be in some alternate universe. The more she thinks about it, the easier she finds it to believe. She’d experienced trauma in the loss of her father and was recently experiencing an increased stress load from school. All that coupled with the stories her grandfather always spouted out in great detail probably helped her to create a believable version of this alternate world.
Strangely, she finds comfort in these thoughts. If she were mad, then no one was really trying to kill her. If she were mad, then these shards had no real power. If she were mad, then the only person she could hurt would be herself.
But if she were mad, it would mean that Inuyasha didn’t exist, that his embrace wasn’t real, that she really was alone.
How strange that her fear of abandonment that she’d surmised to be the cause of her hallucinations was the same fear that convinced her that they must be real.
