You remember the stars in Celes, how they were always blocked out by Ashura bending over you, how you often closed your eyes because it was just too painful and you were being stretched to the point where it wasn't just painful anymore, to a point where you were almost too numb. You remember how mortifying it was for Chii to find you, blood and cum seeping out of your ass and your mouth, both body parts bruised horribly.

You remember the stars in the Time-Space Witch's world, brief though your connection to them was. You remember glancing up, just once, quickly, just before Mokona sucked you in and the world fell away into fragments.

You remember the stars in every world you've been in since then. You can't help it. You're a magician, and the cycles of the moon and the rise and set of the sun... all of these have something to do with the powers that flow in your blood, too potent to be contained by anything. You look up at the stars in all the different worlds, seeking fortunes and futures, but their stars are different from those in Celes... they're as incomprehensible as languages without Mokona around, and you cannot read them, even though now you can see them better without Ashura bending over you. Though Kurogane's shoulders are broader than Ashura's, you have no reason to close your eyes, because Kurogane doesn't hurt you more than it's necessary, and the hair you fist your hands in is cropped short and it doesn't wrap around you like some kind of shadow, threatening to eat you whole.

You will always remember this.
