[Feb. 28, 2007] [Buffy the Vampire Slayer] Saving Her
Title: Saving her
Day/Theme: Feb. 28- wild children
Series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Character/Pairing: 2 original female characters and a mention of Xander
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Mentions of religion taken really far for a character. Also…slightly dark.
Her daughter was not a…slayer.
She's heard stories about them. Wild children on Satan's quest of destruction, killing the innocent. She will not let her daughter do that- she just can't.
When the young man came to her door, she almost wavered. How could someone who clearly had an inner strength and compassion of a champion really be evil?
A look over his shoulder reminded her that the devil came in many guises and tricked those who would normally walk with the light. So she hardened her heart and put on the guise of confusion, told this Alexander the lies that were necessary so that he could leave. She knew what she had to do.
Her daughter would not fall in the line of a war; her soul would not be lost. She would make sure.
She had to turn her head away for the actual act. Focus on the light, her guardian angel, knowing that this sin was one of necessity.
When it was over, she slid down on the floor by her daughter's bed, staring at her hands. What had she…no. It was necessary. Her daughter would not become one of them- a wild child.
The light shone brighter and she looked up at the angel that was now her daughter and breathed a sigh of relief. She assured herself that she had done the right thing. What else could she have done?
When her little girl reached out her hand, the woman leaned into it, wanting to touch that light.
"You saved my soul Mommy," the girl said as her hand caressed her mother's face, "and damned the rest of earth ."
And she could do nothing but scream.
