Azula has a theory. It involves fire and sand and glass and what can be achieved by the careful application of flame to the structures of earth. Some things fire destroys; others it purifies and strengthens. She only kills when she needs to. Or where it seems prudent. Or where she feels that it will make a useful object lesson.
Behold, her uncle's great failure, her own great triumph; Ba Sing Se is fallen, fallen.
She will turn this place from lowly earth and mud to fired clay and beautiful glass.
Even if she must destroy it in the process.
