---

Ravage raised his head as the Reflector component fell silent in his recital.

His face was twisted with agony, the stylus shaking in the hand only flayed open to the struts. The optic dangling down his face tapped against one of the remaining patches of metal covering his cheeks. The socket for the other optic gaped empty, the faint scent of cauterized wires still drifting from it.

The cat-cassette uncurled and padded over to Reflector, giving the camera-component a minute to regain control of himself and resume recitation of the tortures Soundwave was inflicting on his other component. When the camera did not resume, Ravage reached out with his paw and sank claws into Reflector's more damaged hand.

The camera-component whimpered and jerked back as claws smashed against exposed and artificially-sensitized sensors, dangling optic flaring bright.

Ravage withdrew his paw and daintily set it down on the datapad, claws flexing against the screen.

The camera took the hint - he was very quick on the uptake, which made all of this even more horrifying to him. "Soundwave," he began, vocoder rasping from the acid that had eaten out parts of it, "offered me a choice of a blow-torch or a power-saw to be applied to the right shoulder-joint of my normally left component. I chose the power-saw. Over the last minute, he has made several cuts in the shoulder joint in such a pattern that leads me to believe he intends to partially detach that arm while leaving all of the sensor-lines still attached, thus pulling them past how they are supposed to stretch and increasing my pain."

Ravage tapped his tail lightly against the table as Reflector guided the stylus to write down what he was describing on the data-pad. He had to re-inscribe a few letters as his hand jerked from the sensory feedback, but so long as he corrected himself, Ravage saw no need to punish him for making mistakes. That would have been a trifle too sadistic, and might have led to the camera shutting down in self-defense.

It had been hard enough to get all three of them out here. Neither Ravage nor Soundwave wanted this to end before they were done; they had to keep Reflector balanced in pain and torment, enough to be agonizing, but not enough to be unbearable. The camera had to come out of this alive, after all.

Reflector's central component stood in an observation room just off of the area Soundwave was working in. His wrists were cuffed behind his back with shock-cuffs that sent electric surges through his sensor grid whenever he moved. It encouraged him to learn how not to tremble from the sensory-feedback of his other body. Quickly.

He stood up against the observation window, nasal ridge pressed against the glass as he watched intently while Soundwave cut into his other component's shoulder. He watched very intently indeed, for he didn't want Laserbeak to decide he was shrinking from the task and tear out another circuit-board from his open back.

Soundwave would be finished with this set of tortures soon, he decided. Probably when he put the saw away and then spot-welded the camera-component's chest back shut. Spreading it out like an obscene pair of wings might be both agonizing and visually fascinating, but it prevented that component from either watching or recording.

And that component would have to take up one of the 'posts', because Reflector chose each time to balance the damages Soundwave was inflicting on him. The cassette-host asked him each time which component would lie on the table next.

Reflector thought he would die the first time he made that choice. Now he thought he would die if Soundwave asked for a fourth optic from him and blinded one of his components completely.

After Soundwave finally pulled the sawblade away, Reflector only had a few moments to recollect himself before blue hands very neatly dislocated his shoulder. The sawed cuts let Soundwave pull it farther away than a typical dislocation, and all of the camera's remaining optics went dark as the pain swamped over his mind.

When his vision returned, he found himself screaming in three places at once. Two of those screams cut off with a click, but the third component that lay under Soundwave's hands continued to shriek in agony. Even that one fell silent when Soundwave laid a finger against his mask in a shush gesture.

"You are learning your lesson?" The cassette-host asked as he began to bend Reflector's chest back into some semblence of normalcy.

"Y-yes."

"What are you learning?"

Reflector groaned as one side of his chest came back into line with his pelvis and collar. "Don't try to blackmail you."

Soundwave strummed the exposed circuit-boards on the component's left side, making the camera flinch away. The cassette-host chuckled and turned to the task of bending the other side of Reflector's chest back down.
