He would have given anything for vengeance.
He forsook his identity and wrapped his head in cloth, hiding himself away from the world to construct his reprisal, piece by piece.
He traded allies, assisted a young man bearing his name, and, believing himself to know everything, tried to combine No One and Someone into a single heart.
But he’d overestimated himself (and maybe underestimated Namine). He’d overlooked Riku’s devotion (and forgotten himself what it meant to dedicated). He’d not understood (and so No One and Someone reunited, but not in the way he’d expected).
Choosing to pay anything for his revenge, he gave his intelligence and dignity away.
The cost was himself.
He paid it in earnest.
