In one isolated Water Tribe village, they have a story that the moon is looking for her true love, who became mortal to accomplish a great quest, but who then couldn't find the way back to her and threw himself in the sea.
They say that she turns her gaze to and fro on the earth, searching for him, so that she can build him a ladder of moonbeams and he can join her again..
Katara and Aang exchange glances behind Sokka's back, and he knows what they're thinking when they suggest leaving early.
Sokka doesn't mind. Yue would understand.
