Hitsugaya believes that if he can find the right words, he can break Aizen's hold on Hinamori.
He brings her facts and figures; he gives her details; he lets her know the casualties, the treacheries, the truth that will set her free.
If he could, he would bar Renji and Kira from seeing her. Their gentleness is a mistake. Only a blade will work.
Each time she looks at him with those quiet eyes like windows into darkness, and says, Yes, Hitsugaya-taichou, I know, you are right, and her shoulders bow a little more.
Surely it can't be long now.
