[February 6] [Kingdom Hearts] A Sort Of False Spring
Title: A Sort Of False Spring
Day/Theme: February 6 / the spell that cannot be broken
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Character/Pairing: Kairi
Rating: G
Spoiler Warnings: Spoilers for the end of KH1.
It’s been awhile since she’s drawn. She lifts the stone; her hand curls awkwardly around it. She experimentally makes long, sweeping lines along the vertical surface, and once she’s satisfied with what she’s done, she harrumphs and starts to hastily color along the wall.
Her eyes are screwed in concentration. Her lids get lower, and they squeeze tears out.
She sits back on her feet and hunches forward. Her tongue sticks out on its own and coils around her lip, and it’s only then that she begins to taste salt.
But she can’t let the tears blur her vision. Not when she’s working so hard, not when she’s so close and she can make him closer.
She finishes shading the star with a flourish, and she laughs and cries at the same time.
“There,” she says, to him and to nobody. “Now you’ve gotta come back.”
And maybe he’ll take awhile, because he’s Sora and that’s the only reason she needs.
But she knows he’ll return.
She knows.
She cries.
