[Feb 2] [Transformers: Beast Machines] Sparkstrain Part Five
Title: Sparkstrain Part Five
Day/Theme: Feb 2 / Three seeds
Series: Transformers: Beast Machines
Characters: Thrust, Strika, Obsidian
Rating: G
Thrust revved his engine as he listened to his newest cohorts babble away about some plans of theirs as they stood amongst the bustle of an assembly plant. He noticed there was a distinct lack of him and his cycle drones involved in the plan. And they didn't seem to consider him to be a cohort. He was peeved that even though he had seniority, Megatron was letting these two know-it-alls run the show. That irritated him most of all.
He listened for half a minute more then rolled over right between them and demanded, "So when do I come in? Or are you gonna leave me out again? I've been fighting these bozos since before you were sparked! I should have a say in this, too."
Strika tilted her head imperiously. "Inferior units shall be stationed as back up."
Thrust narrowed his visor. "Which you don't need, right? I still don't get why Megatron thinks you two are such hot stuff."
Obsidian drifted closer to loom over the cycle-mech. "Perhaps you were not paying attention when we introduced ourselves."
"Not that we needed to," Strika added. "But if you chose to ignore Megatron's strategy, that would be your problem. And we have more important things to do right now than justify ourselves to you. When we have your place in the plans ready, we will brief you." She turned and skated over to a control panel. Obsidian followed. They immediately began talking again.
Thrust growled and headed out into the hallway. "Great war generals. So what? They're not up against an army. They're up against a bunch of resourceful lunatics. Even I'll admit that. Megatron coulda used any other sparks, but noooo..." He made a left turn up a ramp. "Coulda used any other sparks for Tankor and Jetstorm, too." He made another left and came to the upper level overlooking the work floor. Rows of Strika's six-wheeled tanks awaited their orders. He resisted the urge to shoot at them.
He watched as more joined the ranks, muttering, "So when do I get more cycle drones?" He continued watching for several moments. "Heh. So they need alllllll those troops. Maybe they're not so great after all. Three of us before with just a handful of drones was enough to give the Maximals a run for their energon."
He didn't notice the hulking figure come up behind him until her shadow fell over him. "Huh?" He shifted around.
Strika narrowed her optics. She might have wanted to make a derisive comment but instead said, "We are ready to begin the operation. You may pass on the instructions to your drones as you see fit."
He saw that Obsidian lurked just a little ways behind her. He didn't respond, only thinking that it had never been this way with Tankor and Jetstorm. That was irritating.
