They were all together, meaning that everyone on their team was alive.

Kakashi walked over to Naruto, who looked good as dead on the ground. He picked up the boy and thought maybe that wasn't completely true.

"Kakashi-sensei," Sakura said, walking over to him, "let me heal you before you do that."

Kakashi smiled at her. But she wasn't fooled, maybe as she would have been a twelve, and all but grabbed Naruto out of his arms.

Ino then surprised them both and set her one of her hands on Kakashi's shoulder. The skin was bare because the clothes had been torn, and the contact nearly made him shiver; he didn't much like people touching him.

"I'll handle this," Ino said.

Sakura looked startled for a moment. She clearly hadn't expected Ino to know any medical skills.

"You're not going to outdo me in anything," Ino said and gave Sakura a mocking smile.

Kakashi was surprised to feel a lump in his throat, it reminded him way too much of Naruto and Sasuke. He really shouldn't have been surprised, though, he'd become more and more away of these emotions coming to the surface since Asuma visited him in the hospital.

Sakura's eyes narrowed. "Ino, he's part of my team, I can take care of him myself."

"There's no way you have enough chakra to take care of both Kakashi and Naruto," Ino said. Her voice was different, almost soft. "Even more so after you'd taken care of Shikamaru."

Sakura didn't say anything. Instead she walked a few feet away and then carefully set Naruto on the ground. Kakashi watched as she started to pour her chakra into her teammate, and did his best to ignore Ino's fingers on his skin as she did the same to him.

Kakashi didn't like Naruto to be still. The boy was always moving, talking. He was quite a terrible ninja in that sense, in his inability to be still. Although, lately his focus had been getting extremely good.

Kakashi wasn't sure how he felt about this. He wanted Naruto to be a good ninja, and he was proud that Naruto kept getting better. On the other hand, he didn't want to see Naruto push himself so hard and fight in a battle in which he could die alone.

He was sure that where he'd dug into his palms with his nails would scar. He'd never let Naruto do such a thing again, but he understood why Naruto had to this time.

Kakashi would probably still smack the boy when he woke up though.

When Ino removed her fingers, she backed away, her ability to read people's body language was good, and for that he was grateful.

Now that that was over, and a bit because looking at Naruto and Sakura was getting a bit too much to watch, and because he needed to, anyway, Kakashi surveyed the rest of the damage. Ino had retreated over to Sakura, had grabbed Naruto's hand, and was watching Sakura's hands carefully. Yamato was talking to Chouji quietly about something, or trying to, Chouji eyes were focused on Shikamaru, who was standing away from everyone.

Shikamaru...

Kakashi hadn't been looking forward to this moment at all. He'd almost say he'd been dreading it.

He sighed slightly as he walked over to Shikamaru, and did his best to push Sasuke out of his mind. He wasn't sure how well that would work, especially if had to tie Shikamaru up.
