[Jan 30] [Transformers: Beast Wars] Sparkstrain Part Two
Title: Sparkstrain Part Two
Day/Theme: Jan 30 / I'll make you true
Series: Transformers: Beast Wars
Characters/Pairings: BlackarachniaxSilverbolt
Rating: PG
Notes: Based on events in the episode "Crossing the Rubicon".
"...But as a Predacon...goodbye..."
Silverbolt heard the echo of his own howl back then, even though all the theatrics were unnecessary. She hadn't died then. But this time it was for real, this time...this time he would have revenge on the one who had twisted her from the beginning. She would have been a Maximal all along if not for Tarantulus' meddling. The psychotic spider would pay.
He was barely aware of himself as rage consumed him. He didn't care that he was disregarding honor and fair play -- why should he be bothered by a momentary lapse when Tarantulus spent his entire existance disregarding the lives of everyone else?
But the lapse cost him anyway as Rampage ambushed him. He stared up the barrel of the cannon in his face, knowing he had no way of escaping this. Yet in that moment he was prepared to face his death. With her gone...
And then he heard her voice. Rampage turned his attention to the female spider, neither concerned by her miraculous recovery nor skipping a beat on trying to destroy her again. Silverbolt found he could only stare when he spotted her.
After Rampage had unwillingly left the scene and she had helped Silverbolt back to his feet, he tried to focus through the pain from his wounded shoulder to get a better look at her. "Changed...but still the same you." He reached one hand to touch the side of her face.
Blackarachnia smiled. "You like? I definitely prefer this color scheme, myself."
"How do you feel?"
She shifted her body. "New-And-Improved."
"Aside from that." He winced and reached for his wound.
She took his hand before he could do so and drew his arm over her shoulders to support him. Her voice was soft. "Whole. No more Predacon shell programming. Just what I always was."
Relief flooded through him. "So you do acknowledge that you were a Maximal all along..?"
Blackarachnia moved enough to face him again, tracing his cheek with the back of one claw. "I can't say now if my judgement was clouded before. To be honest, there was more than just the Predacon shell lost. I died, Silverbolt." Her arms slipped around him and she touched her forehead to his chin. "I don't know how it happened, but my spark was allowed to live again. And I don't know what I can say for that modified alien technology, but it did grant me a new chance." She drew back to look him in the optics. "You got me far enough to have that chance."
Silverbolt smiled and placed his left arm around her. "You more than deserved that chance, my lady."
She chuckled. "Don't ever change, Bowser. I'm rather used to hearing those two words. Now let's get you home. The monkey will probably read us both the riot act for this."
