[Jan 13] [G Gundam] Drink With Me, My Friends
Title: Drink With Me, My Friends
Day/Theme: Jan 13 / Wine not found
Series: G Gundam
Characters: Three random bystanders
Rating: PG-13 for language and alcohol consumption
"So the world is coming to an end."
"No, just the colonies launching."
"Is it true they're ripping whole chunks out of the ground?"
"That's a rumor."
"I saw it myself. The whole of San Marino, gone."
"Nice try. You've been here this entire time like the rest of us impoverished shmucks."
"Better to be here and grounded in reality than to be one of the bastards floating in space."
"I'll second that." They raised their glasses and clinked them together.
"But still...even though life will be great without the oppressing elite, what's to stop the anarchy of continued living down here?"
Silence reigned in which dripping from elsewhere in the dark wine cellar could be heard.
"Sorry, man, that was too heavy to think about right now." The speaker drained his glass and reached for another bottle.
"Shouldn't we save some?"
"For what?"
"To celebrate when the colonies come crashing back down and the elite become impoverished shmucks."
"Better make that a quick drink because we'll be gone the second they hit."
"Who knows, maybe they'll stay afloat long enough to fix things."
"Yeah, right. Only if they sent capsules of money down so we can fix it ourselves. We relied on the people at the top to take care of the rest of us, an' look what we've got for it."
"Yeah...a whole place full'a all the drink we've ever wanted!"
"Good point, my friend. Society needs to collapse under the weight of humanity's stupidity more often!"
