[Jan 10] [Transformers: Beast Wars] Breathe In

Title: Breathe In
Day/Theme: Jan 10 / Meditate
Series: Transformers: Beast Wars
Characters: Tigatron
Rating: G

As I walk through the jungle undergrowth I breathe in the scent of the clean air, damp with moisture from a nearby river. The surrounding leaves are a brilliant green, most of them broad to gather as much sunlight as they wish to drink in within the space of a day. Water has gathered on these leaves, which is scattered as I brush against the stalks. The sunlight-gathering will soon end this day, for evening approaches. The western horizon is already changing color. The air will soon change, too, gaining the crisper edge of night.

Sunset and sunrise are my favorite parts of the daily cycle. They mark the transformation from plants and creatures of day to those of night. Each plays a role in nature, and all contribute to the great balance. Warmth to coolness, yellow to indigo. Even the clouds drifting above are affected by this cycle of change.

Change it may be, but it stays ever the same, regular and reliable. There is the law of the food chain but at the same time nature here is in harmony with itself.

I consider these details each time I take a rest cycle. It puts my spark at ease and allows me to sleep peacefully, though there are occasions -- more often than I like to admit -- when I am troubled by thoughts of the Beast Wars and what their consequences may ultimately be. This applies to both upon my comrades and upon the planet.

Our weapons and machinations toward either faction's destruction were not meant to exist here. However, I feel we can learn from this world. I am from Cybertron but I was reborn here, on this organic planet. It granted me a level of understanding with a type of life different from that of Cybertron, and the unique peace that accompanies it. My fellow Maximals -- and the Predacons, too -- would do well to stop their ambitions long enough to ponder the cycles of the day, of the colors of the sky, of the pattern of the stars. An answer to the conflict lies all around us if only they would be willing to open their minds to it.
