2 jan . bleach . it's not a matter of time
Title: it's not a matter of time
Day/Theme: 2 january // going to bed early doesn't help much.
Series: bleach
Character/Pairing: orihime
Notes: rated g! takes place during... in some weird limbo world where rukia has not been taken to soul society yet!
It's been a long day, but she still can't sleep.
Her eyes roll to the little clock on her bedside table. 2:06.
Chizuru always warns her of the dangers of losing beauty sleep! Orihime squeezes her eyes shut, fearful of the night monsters that may come to eat her beauty and suck out her soul.
It doesn't help at all in falling asleep, and it's certainly jolted her up far too much to concentrate on sheep counting.
She could think about the day as it passed! That could work. It was quite peaceful, Tatsuki came over and ate lunch with her! Then they went out to the shopping district and bumped into Ichigo and the others.
They watched a movie, all together, and Tatsuki made sure to sit herself between Orihime and Keigo -- oh, oh, could Tatsuki perhaps like him?? -- and Orihime herself sat next to Ichigo the whole time, though he never really quite noticed.
Then Rukia appeared and swept Ichigo away for some reason, like a true knight saving the princess from the dragon in the castle! And, oh, how thrilling it would be to be a dragon! And maybe she and Tatsuki could both be dragons, dragon partners!
Though, she contemplated to herself a bit regretfully, she wouldn't be a very good dragon. Tatsuki would be able to tell her as much. Dragons are strong and protect their friends with huge claws and conical horns at the head that shoot out fire!
She couldn't really do anything like that. Maybe protect her friends with the night beauty monsters that, in fact, turn out to be quite nice once you get to know them! They just need a chance and some time to get adjusted, they don't like strangers.
2:30.
She so wants to sleep, but it's still so hard, thinking about dragons and monsters and strangers who won't look at you.
She curls and rings her fingers in the little folds and creases of her bedsheets.
There is nothing lonelier, she whispers to the beauty monster sitting at her desk, than being a teenage girl who actually wants to be a dragon.
A fact of life, wise Orihime, the monster agreed.
