[Aug. 14th: all night long I've held you hand] [Gundam SEED] Tsubasa

The sun bleeds over the sky at sunset, and she wonders what this boy dreams of. He'd been having nightmares since the day he'd been brought to her, she heard him screaming out Athrun's name once, and calling for someone named Frey, or something. Even asleep he was a restless sort, she noted, as she disentangled the sheets from his feet and covered him with them.
She wasn't sure if he knew where he was-- he'd opened his eyes a dozen times but they didn't seem to see anything. She sat down on the chair by his bed and sipped the tea she'd let go cold. His heart needed to rest. His heart was broken. Above them the sky had gone dark from red. He stirs in his sleep, murmuring. Immediately she twines her fingers around his, holds tight. He quiets, and the air is still again.
Pink-chan bounces onto the bed. "True love!" it says, "True love!" She shushes it with a small smile and a shake of her head. The Haro quiets and begins rolling around by their entwined hands.
True love, indeed.
She hopes to be his angel, keeping the darkness away. She holds his hand, lets out a sigh. She watches over him as the night stretches on, she holds on, she holds on.
Kira Yamato had no nightmares that night.
