[Nov. 26, 2006][Original] Path to the King

Title: Path to the King
Day/Theme: Nov. 26, 2006 a thinking woman sleeps with monsters
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Tabina and Lusec
Rating: PG-13

Tabina had made her way upward in the world through a somewhat unorthodox manner, but what did that matter? She was becoming a creator of high society, having left behind children in both House Atien and House Belioso. Now the time had come- there was a chance she could marry the new king. In all Miyari she could do no better than that.

The new Karol XVI was younger than her, but it mattered little. At least he was good-looking. She had tangled with some rather ferocious men in the past and things had always worked out for both parties involved. There appeared to be no reason why this time should be any different.

She slunk into the tent of General Lusec and slid around the weary man, dropping into his lap. His mustache practically curled at her touch. "Tabina, what brings you here?" he inquired cheerfully as his round cheeks flushed a ruddy sienna hue.

Stroking the general's toned chest the brunette gave her request, "Lu, I want to have a meeting with the king. To be a half-decent king he's gonna need a bride."

"And you think he'd want you, even with your four kids out there? Wouldn't a young warlord prefer a pure maiden?" Lusec asked in reply. His eyes twinkled roguishly, "Now, I, on the other hand, would be pleased to have you as a wife."

"Don't get your hopes up, Lu," Tabina laughed and leaned her head on the general's shoulder. "Wife is a bit much, but maybe if you set your sights a little lower we could make a deal..."

Lusec's blood was boiling. Tabina was a bit spicy for his bland cabbage and potatoes lifestyle. ..But if it was just a temporary deal, a sort of strategic liason, he was sure he could manage. "I'll make you forget the Atien peacock and the Belioso octopus!" he chuckled.

She smiled at the mention of her past lovers. What animal did Lusec bring to mind? ...Perhaps a noisy barking seal? These animals were nothing. For a little bit more power or prestige she would sleep with monsters.
