They say that Coordinators are a different race. They say that they are no longer human, no longer natural because of the changes made to their genes. Changes, mutations!, that give them advantage over humans.

Coordinators are stronger, faster, better and absolutely unnatural, that is what they say.

And maybe, they are right, because Athrun is stronger, faster and better. He is all those things and more. He’s smarter, gentler and beautiful.

But when Cagalli holds his hand, touches his face, holds him in her arms, she can’t understand why Naturals and Coordinators hate each other so. She can’t understand, because Athrun blushes like any other person, he smiles like any other person and is warm like any other person.

Held in his arms, Cagalli listens to the steady rhythm of his heart and wonders, how is this heart different from any other person’s?

“We’re all just people. We’re all the same. Just…people.”

She wants to scream that at the world, to make them all understand, but nobody listens, and she can only work to change this, one person at a time.
