[Nov. 19, 2006][Valkyrie Profile] Lenneth and the Einherjar
Title: Lenneth and the Einherjar
Day/Theme: Nov. 19, 2006 god's lioness
Series: Valkyrie Profile
Character/Pairing: Lenneth, Odin, etc.
Rating: PG
Fierce indeed with the goddess who slept as a mortal until her aid was required. Her bearing was elegant, her eyes cold and stern. It seemed no mortal emotion could reach her. She laid waste to the ranks of the hideously tainted souls of the undead roaming Midgard and called to herself fallen warriors, brave and bold, to train their minds and bodies for the battle that lay ahead: Ragnarok. Her step was swift and her wings were gleaming white. Her blade was brighter still. She was sent forth by Odin and heeded his word above all else. Her name? Lenneth Valkyrie.
The Einherjar found her beyond fathoming. She was wise, strong, and beautiful. She could be cold, like her ice crystals, but at times she exhibited an almost maternal patience with their faults and failings. As long as they would fight, Lenneth would do her part to make their time as warriors of the Aesir bearable. She assured Yumei that she would see her parents again, took Arngrim home to look in on his brother, and crafted coins of good fortune to give them all when she sent them on their way from the battlefields of earth to join the heavenly campaign.
They loved her or they feared her. They all respected her. All were surprised and some flattered to have been chosen to join the ranks of the Einherjar. Their deathes had not been peaceful, but they could not hold onto their regrets. It was time to try and live up to the honor. They would fight to make Lenneth proud.
Odin had only praise for Lenneth and her work. He passed the accolades on to her through Freya. The acquisition of warriors from Midgard was the resource that was winning the war. They responded well to direction and were never afraid to rush out and pursue their enemy in ways that bordered on dangerously foolhardy. They certainly lived up to expectations. They were pushing back the Vanir. Odin could not let up yet, but his hopes were high. The greatest gift he could give Lenneth would be success.
*** It took me a while to come up with something... But I did like writing about Lenneth for the first time...***
