Ever since that day, he'd been hungry. He didn't know why.
He was aware that once the humans had been friends, but only in the way that one is aware of a time before pain, or before illness; now that he was consumed by the hunger, he found it hard to truly believe in the time before. In any time before.
It sat in his stomach like coals and howled in his mind like a wolf. It eroded who he was, and left behind the most basic instincts; feed, rut, kill.
He looked at the humans, and thought only, prey.
