Notes: I didn't realize until recently that Haruhi's headband isn't a ribbon— it's actually a solid band with decorative bows on the sides.

Kyon was stunned to find Haruhi making tea for the SOS Brigade club herself. "What's going on?" he asked.

"Nothing," Haruhi said sweetly, as she set out a cup of tea for him. "I just felt like helping Mikuru out today."

Kyon, being fond of certain hairstyles, noticed that Haruhi's hair was loose. "Where's your head-band?" he asked. "I've never seen you without it since the beginning of the year."

"Oh, I just happened to take it off when I came in," Haruhi said. "Come to think of it, that's when I suddenly felt like helping with the tea."

When you took off your head-band?, Kyon thought to himself. I wonder if that tight head-band presses against your brain, or something.

"Mikuru-chan?" asked Kyon, out loud. "Would you please try on Haruhi's head-band, just for a moment?"

Mikuru put on the head-band. She suddenly grinned maniacally. And then, Mikuru lunged at Haruhi, and began to yank off Haruhi's school uniform.

Haruhi cowered and mewled pathetically. "WAIT!! I'll wear the maid uniform, but please, let me put it on myself!!"

Kyon watched this role-reversal with mouth agape. I have never been so turned on in my life, he thought to himself.
