1 november . bleach . accounts of revenge, acts i & ii
Title: accounts of revenge, acts i & ii
Day/Theme: 1 november // the heart asks pleasure first
Series: bleach
Character/Pairing: aizen, rukia, hinamori
Rating: pg
01.
She dreams of his fall occuring jointly with his rise to glory.
He takes her by the collar and gives her that arrogant terrible magnificent look of triumph already taken place, having been in the workings for years and years, like clockwork, of a God who has Come at last. And all she has to do is look at Ichigo, bleeding in his own remains and clinging to life like a vengeful shipwrecked sailor, and suddenly his sword is in her hands (awkward and heavy) and she cuts off that damnable hand outstretched to her bird neck with a clean stroke, like she has done to so many Hollows before.
And instead of hiding away into a world between worlds (where everything is black and foggy and unsure), he begins to fall into pieces, as if his powerful arm had been the white bone mask and he is already cleansed and pure for Heaven. He gives her a heartbreaking smile and suddenly he is Renji, her brother, Kaien, Ichigo.
"Thank you for protecting me," he says, and vanishes.
02.
Hinamori does not dream. Not really, she thinks, and confides as much with a quiet murmer of gratitude to inquiries, thank you for your concern, I truly appreciate it.
It is not so much a dream as it is the memory of cold steel flying and piercing her and all of her vulnerability; the smile comes second, a faint quirk of the lips in warm and gentle eyes that doesn't make sense, doesn't connect, so she smiles back.
The memory haunts her every step, all the way to Hueco Mondo, at the feet of a high throne of a benevolent god.
