"Somethin' wrong, Naru?" asked Kitsune.

"I was trying to study with Keitaro for the entrance exams," Naru said irritably, "but he spent most of the evening staring at me, with a creepy look on his stupid face. I know he's hopeless around women, and I know he has a sad little crush on me. But if he doesn't stop spacing out, he'll never be admitted to Tokyo University."

"You could say that Keitaro is 'putting the heart before the course'," Kitsune noted.

"The next time I 'hit the books'," Naru growled, "I'm going to hit you with one of them."
