"Of course I've got stories to tell," Pore said, scanning an article at the bottom of the newspapers page. "But no one has ever asked to listen to them."

Ginji leaned forward. "Anything outstanding? Anything you feel like sharing with us, for any reason?"

"Speak for yourself," Ban muttered.

"Come on, Ban-chan - Pore might give us a free cup of coffee for each story we agree to listen to. Ouch! What was that for?"

"Nothing. There's no instant formula for brain capacity improvement yet, anyway."

Pore tapped his cigarette at the ashtray. "Experience can do that, and the emotions we encounter along the way. Now, when I was your age...Okay, Ban, how about this - no free coffee, but no doing the dishes until at least next week."
