[Aug. 18, 2006][original] Stealing Hearts
Title: Stealing Hearts
Day/Theme: Aug. 18, 2006 "My heart is capable of every form: /Pasture for deer, a monastery for monks, /Temple for idols."
Series: original
Character/Pairing: Rowan, Christine, Seif, etc.
Rating: PG
"I've always thought of the Messinan knights as...well, more monastic sorts," Rowan admitted, looking down over the balcony at the White Castle and capital city sprawled below.
Aska giggled and clutched Ran's arm, "Don't turn into a monk, Ran!"
Ran blushed slightly and giggled more in response.
Li laughed heartily as well, and slapped Rowan on the back, "That's because you don't know much about Messina, my Cambrian friend!"
"Well," Rowan chuckled, "I trust that in the coming days Sir Seif will take it upon himself to educate me."
Seif rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Lovely," he smirked.
"Sir Seif, are you being impolite to a guest?" asked Christine as she rounded the corner coming down the spiral staircase. Her blue eyes brightened as she took in their visitor. Curtsying politely, she introduced herself, "Pleased to meet you, Sir Black Knight, I am Christine."
He sized up the young woman with a smile, "It is my pleasure." He bowed slightly and continued, "I'm Rowan of Cambria, and to meet you, Holy Mother, is an honor-"
"Now wait a minute!" Christine interrupted him, "I'm not the holy mother." She shuffled her feet, clearly embarrassed at the mistaken identity.
"She is the future holy mother of our church and country," Li explained, "So you should still be honored to meet her. Under ordinary circumstances, you couldn't even meet Christine, let alone the holy mother."
"Ah, I see." Rowan nodded. "I hope you'll forgive my ignorance, Holy Lady Christine."
"Of course," the blue-haired woman told him.
With well-practiced grace, Rowan reached out and took her delicate hand and pressed it to his lips. Christine blushed at the gesture and pulled away to hold onto Sir Seif's arm.
"My heart is aflutter," Rowan teased.
"You never do that, Seif," Christine whispered in her knight's ear.
"I've never seen anyone do that before," Seif shrugged, "He probably came up with it right now!"
***Happy half birthday to me! ^_~ Just saying...
