[August 17][Bleach] An Unromantic Love

Title: An Unromantic Love
Day/Theme: August 17/ As for refined love -- let others claim it. May God, instead give me contentment.
Series: Bleach
Character/Pairing: Nanao/Shunsui
Rating: G

Nanao is not a romantic.

She does not think herself a princess, nor him a prince or a knight on a white horse who will rescue her from an ivory tower. It is not her opinion that the proof of great love is to dance to his merry tune, to blush horridly when she converses with him, or to swoon at his feet. She disdains sonnets and poetry, and mindless pledges of undying love (flowers being the exception for she adores white lilies and he knows that well).

Her love for him is not one which will immortalised by epic works of literature, nor will it be sung by troubadours in the halls of noble lords. Instead, she is takes joy in the their private moments together - watching him practice his swords under the falling cherry blossoms during the day and lying within his embrace, both of them enshrouded in silver silk of moonlight during the night.

Nanao is not a romantic, but she is in love. And she is content in the knowledge that he loves her back.
