He feels reluctant to ask such practical questions, because he is somehow afraid of her certain smile and the equally certain reply. So he presses his head closer against her lap, the fabric of her jeans comfortingly rough against his ruined cheek. "Your hair needs some trimming," she remarks. He nods vaguely and closes his eyes, thinking of the young man who saw his intended bride crushed to death, and the young man's countenance, contorted with hatred and flesh-deep wounds.

Do you know how much you heal me?

This is another question he will never voice, because he is also afraid to bring her beauty in the scheme of things to her attention; and the bliss in ignorance works both ways.
