Vibrantly green blades of summer grass cling to skinny, pale legs. White skin sports a sheen of sweat, not heavy, just a faint shimmer, here and there. It’s relatively quiet, over the chirping of birds and the leaves rustling in the faint breeze, over the soft sound of pages turning, eight year old Kurosaki Hisoka can hear the distant sound of children playing. Children his own age, whom he’s never met, even though they live right next door.

He turns another page, eyes barely skimming over the words. He isn’t out here to read. He can do that anytime. He’s out here to enjoy the sun, and the outside world. He never really saw much sun, locked in that basement.

Of course he isn’t out here to read.

But it feels nice, to be able to sit out in the sun and pretend he’s normal.

Eh, would anyone mind reading and commenting? I just really like to know if people have read whatever I've bothered to write.
