31_days. A 100-word drabble.
The problem is that Kaoru and Hikaru together only make one whole person.
This dependence makes Hikaru feel weak and in the middle of the night he wakes with a start; so impermanent, every one of his fibres stretched to breaking trying to fill his twin’s voids, pouring himself into his hollows.
Under his twin’s mouth he is drowning in this breath and he is threadbare threadbare threadbare.
He is shackled he is bound he is caged.
He is trying to reach out and he is screaming but he and other people, they are like ghost-ships, passing in the night.
