Sometimes Harry has dreams of the cupboard under the stairs. He dreams of it like a child, like the child he had been.

He dreams of once living in a bedroom, of walls and windows. Then he dreams of a man, his uncle, grabbing him and forcing him in the cupboard, and Harry crying, crying that he's sorry, that he'll be good, that it shan't happen ever again, whatever he had done, just please let him out. He begs and begs but Uncle Vernon doesn't let him out. He dreams of dust falling on his face, of things unseen crawling on his skin, and him crying, wet salty pleads.

When he wakes up from these dreams he finds his pillow wet and everyone else's pillow over their ears.
