If Aizen had left behind a note (and he is far too sensible a man to do such a thing) then there is one thing he would have wanted to say.
Don't think that I have been nurturing some sort of hatred all this time. I like you all. I even respect some of you. You are virtuous men and women, powerful, beautiful -- I have never thought less of you for disagreeing with what I choose to do. But how can I do less than love what I see?
He signed his departure in Hinamori-kun's blood. Because he cared.

When he had looked back at Komamura, he had wanted to forswear Aizen, and stay behind, and apologise.

Ichimaru Gin likes to ride the edge. He wouldn't ever have been satisfied otherwise. Not if it wasn't for those pinpoints of agony in his lover's eyes, that little intake of breath from someone trying to hold back their pain (and for his sake, for his sake), or the knowledge of hurt in his own flesh, of being aware that he is choosing to submit to someone who will make him beg and scream.
When he turned to say goodbye to Rangiku, and saw that flash of heartbreak in her eyes at his words, he had never loved her more.
