That was something else Sarah Jane Smith should have told her about: the way that he could be so familiar, and yet so different.

She added it to her list of grievances.

People were people, Rose reassured herself. Just because he had a whole-body facelift didn't mean that his mind was different.

But it shouldn't be like this, as though his habits, his speech, his whole personality was as changeable as his face.

(There was a reason that Time Lords could recognise each other, and a reason that humans didn't. The TARDIS didn't tell her that.)
