Sometimes, when she thinks he's fallen asleep, Sakura leaves his bedside, to stand by the window, looking out over the night sky. Neji sees her, of course—he never misses anything—and sometimes, he even looks out at the dark, starry skies as well, lacking anything better to do, and watches a few loose strands of her irritatingly pink hair flutter about in the light breeze.

 

There are wind chimes outside the hospital window, and Neji despises them with a passion. They are rather garish things; chimes in the shapes of tropical fish and turtles, painted in bright colors. But at night, when it is dark, and can't see the colors as well, and there's only the sound of their gentle glass clicking against each other, he admits to himself, and only to himself (he remains determinedly silent at Sakura's playful inquiries) that he doesn't mind the wind chimes moved by solar winds quite as much at night.
