Title: Revolution
Day/Theme: August 6/"To the lords and ladies of Byzantium"
Series: Original (inspired by the memorial service in Hiroshima)
Rating: G
There are ruins here, below high-rises and beyond highways. There is death here, despite the children running to and fro. There are memories here, buried under stone and fresh grass. There are martyrs here, whose bodies melted in a flash of light and left no trace behind.
How do we take the rise and fall for granted? The rise and fall of empires, the rise and fall of kings and armies, the rise and fall of liberty and enlightenment, the rise and fall of humanity. The rise and fall of a child’s breast as he breathes.
But as we live and die, so will others. As we mourn and fight, so will others. As we tinker and toil, so will others.
And together we shall destroy the world, when together we might have saved it.
