[May 8] [Blood+] weaning
Title: weaning
Day/Theme: May 8 / She has a brother who believes in hope

Word Count: 160
For a so-called juvenile delinquent, he had certainly tried so hard to fulfill his duties and responsibilities these past few months, with little to show for his effort and anguish. It was so hard to grasp on to things now, to even accept that his world was spiraling away from anything he had a semblance of control over. He was (helpless, fucking helpless) limited in what he could give his family, was restricted by circumstances, by his humanity. (Not from lack of trying, definitely! Not that, dammit!)
Once, twice, several times, they had pledged to one another that there was more to their love for one another than blood ties—so what if they shared none? Vaguely, he thought, as he struggled to remain grounded and continued to support his brother’s weight, as he fought the gentle drowse of hypoxia, if at least the sharing underway now counted for something.

And he held him closer.
