[may 2] [princess mononoke] affectation
Title: Affectation
Date/Theme: may 2 | And it's one for the morning glory
Series: Princess Mononoke
Characters: Moro
Rating: PG
Notes: Eeeeh... I don't really like it. But hell, it's something. (I wrote something really really good that I'm really proud of a couple days ago and now I think I used all my excellence up so now I can only produce crap. XD) I promise better stuff when my muse comes back.
(Oh, and sorry if the timing is all screwed up; I had this in at 11:27 but then my brother took the computer hostage, so I didn't get to actually submit it until much later. My apologies.)
In the pale moonlight, Moro studies the scene within her cave. She watches as her only daughter helps this stray boy drink water she fetched for him. She watches San help him lay back down, and bring the furs up over his body, and strip him of his sleeves for his own comfort.
And suddenly Moro realizes that this is really not her daughter. This is a girl, watching this boy with curious eyes that trail over his body. This is a girl, lightly running her hand across his forehead, his cheek, his lips. This is a girl, smiling as he mumbles in his sleep. This is the ugly and beautiful human and wolf girl.
But the Princess Mononoke that Moro raised has vanished in the midst of this young man. In this moment she is as the heaven's intended. For this night, San is human.
So she turns her head and disappears as well; she will not let these humans defile how she spends the rest of her night.
