[Aug 5] [Shaman King] Childlike Innocence

Title: Childlike Innocence
Day/Theme: August 5: A boy
Series: Shaman King
Character/Pairing: HaoYoh
Rating: G

He was still a boy, according to his brother.

It was why he could never grasp the factors of everything Hao was trying to teach him—why he couldn’t get stronger.

“Strength should not be considered just physical development, Yoh, but mental attribute as well. If you cannot understand everything I tell you, you will never grow any stronger.”

Yoh sat on the dew-stained grass, taking all of what his brother told him.

He didn’t understand.

He didn’t understand the point of this training—integrating and fighting various elemental spirits with Amidamaru. He had done this as a child—what more could he do now? It obviously wasn’t helping him grow any stronger than he already was before.

Hao sat at the top of a nearby-jagged rock—it was far away from the field his brother was training in, but he could see what he was doing from where he was sitting--sending his other half a disapproving look. This wasn’t even considered training, in his opinion—real training was much more challenging than this.

Yoh still had a long way to go if he couldn’t figure out a simple thing like this.

Yet—his childlike innocence and ignorance was… cute. He tapped his chin at that thought, smirking and continuing to watch Yoh defeat the spirits one-by-one and sighing in exasperation and irritation. Hao hadn’t even told him to defeat the damn things! He wanted Yoh to communicate—to use them: he would need them for future training.

He rolled his eyes, looking to the clouds above him.

Yoh still had such a long ways to go…

He wouldn’t get very far with that immature mentality.
