Tinkling, like shattered glass, shattered time, Genkai’s voice reverberated in the in-between void, the where nothing happened, the where past surrendered elusiveness, turned crystalline and accusatory, like the skies of this psuedo-world.
With the resplendence of her youth, the glow of her stubborn righteousness, the exquisite fineness of her beauty, she wound back time. Stoic as always he was, but within, her anger, her pleading percolated into his soul.
Again, he was utterly human, utterly weak.
Utterly loved.
The younger Toguro took her exasperation as a memento to last eternity. Proud, unbowed, he walked his path to a better hell.
