The windmills ahead of them cut the sky into segments as they turned, great sails moving with an effortless sweep, down and up and down again.
"There was a mathematics problem I used to set," Hakkai said, watching them. "Does a point on the end of one of the spokes travel further while it's turning than a point further in towards the middle?"
Sanzou shrugged. "Does it matter? As long as you can't get off, you just have to keep on going."
Turn, sweep; up, round, down; the windmills are bounded by the sky, but they never leave their path.
