D'Artagnan is probably the only man in France's armies who prefers to fight in the rain.
Oh, he is none too fond of the cold, or of soaked uniforms - even the smell of wet wool is foul enough, never mind the way it feels against the skin. But still... in d'Artagnan's view, rain cleans up warfare so nicely. No point in even trying to fire a musket; everything comes down to pikes and swords, an altogether more chivalrous way to fight. If it rains hard enough, the blood will even be rinsed away. And of course, one never goes thirsty.
