She often offered to take the night watch. Daylight made her sleepy, even after all these years, so even the loneliness of the humanborn night was a comfort sometimes. The crazy world around her seemed to pause before the dawn; asleep in the deep dream of the early morning.
Plus, there was the dawn itself. She would trek to the roof to catch the first rays of the sun coming in. “Good morning, Twilight.” She stood there, skin rosy in the half-light, until the sound of someone chasing down the teapot for breakfast returned her to the waking world.
