March 8 | Tsubasa | the mystery magic can't answer
Author: Katharos
Title: The mystery magic can't answer.
Theme: I say no world can hold a you
Fandom: Tsubasa
Word Count: 203
Summary: King Touya watches his sleeping High Priest.
Sometimes, when the sky is clear and the moon is riding high, Touya slips into the chambers next to his, where the High Priest is sleeping. On those nights he doesn't wake him; dressed in his linen night shift, the night's chill cutting through the thin cloth, he stands by Yukito's bed and watches him sleep, watches the moonlight whisper magic over his skin. Touya's magic is nothing compared to what his father had, what his sister holds; but when he stands beside his friend on a high place, he can feel the lift of winds.
Sometimes, especially in the early days, Touya wondered how Yukito could have come to be here. A boy made of pure magic, that murmurs restlessly against the edges of the world. Yukito's power reaches up to touch the moon, to touch all moons, and how could bars of sand ever hold him, ever keep him? How could he bear to dissolve those bonds and release him from this world?
Touya reaches out and lightly touches the fine strands of hair that spill across the pillow, and smiles. Yuki will never leave him. And so he is always able to let him go.
