Roses were specious. The blossom of the flower was indeed ravishing, but it was also surrounded by pricking thorns. The brooding, dark crimson of the petals were gracefully curved, but were always protected by the brambles.
Altessa loved roses because of their decepting beauty. Roses, after all, were obviously her favorite flowers, as she pampered and nourished them every day with the best of her ability.
Not only roses were important to her, but so was Bright. In fact, metaphorically, he was a rose. It was true that he naturally attracted many females, but he was fragile like the bloom of the rose. There was a part of him that was very ephemeral and emotional. Bright had hidden that side of his to the extent of Altessa not even knowing angst existed within him, but after Bright went under the transformation into a cruel person, she understood it now.
Bright was a rose. He was very appealing, but his withdrawal were the thorns that separated her from him. The evil, spiteful, new personality of his attributed to the brambles that drove them apart.
It was a dark day when Bright told Altessa that he never wanted to see her again, leaving her in tears that embroidered the ground. As Altessa gently brushed her fingertips against her roses a thorn caught her thumb and formed a ruby slice across her creamy skin.
His words hurt like thorns. He was as fragile as the flower.
Bright was a rose. He was a rose to her.
