[February 15] [Yu Yu Hakusho] even the inevitable takes getting used to

Title: even the inevitable takes getting used to
Day/Theme: Feb 15 / Embroider me with tears
Series: Yu Yu Hakusho
Character/Pairing: Hiei, Kurama, Mukuro
Rating: G

A scene of note involving Hiei of Makai, Mukuro of Makai, and Kurama of Ningenkai:

“Oi, kitsune. If I slowly untwist that idiot’s bowels before his eyes, how long will it take for him to die?”

“You know, Hiei,” said the redhead seriously. “It would be kinder to your bowels, if a bit more acceptance was added to your nature.”

Hiei’s glance was poisonous. “Easy for you to say,” he hissed. “She’s not your sister.”

The other of their party, the woman, was equally unsympathetic. “Cry me a river,” she said blandly. “I thought you were supposed to think up wedding gifts, not ways to murder you soon-to-be brother-in-law.”

“But that idea’s actually workable, Mukuro,” mused Kurama. “Kuwabara isn’t exactly sporting a huge bank account. It would actually help if some secret benefactor gave them a wedding gown...”

“Embroidered with pearls,” finished the once warlord.

Both turned considering looks to the dark haired man scowling beside them. Needless to say, he didn’t find the entire exercise of absurdity amusing.

“I figured you were planning on crying a lot, anyway,” said Mukuro absently.

“Yeah, that would have been pretty poetic,” added Kurama, not bothering to hide his disappointment. “A dress of tears.”

“What the hell are you two saying?” Hiei demanded.

“Oh, nothing.”

“None of our business.”

“Exactly. Shut the hell up.”

So the other two did exactly that, but not without exchanging profound little glances. Hiei ignored them and continued to simmer in his own bile.
