It was the day after Valentine's Day. Bright had received tons of chocolate from his admirers that they overflowed the cardboard box set in the corner of his room. As he and Altessa started their nightly readings again, Altessa helped him open the multi-colored bags, seeing all sorts of cakes and chocolates wrapped within the beautiful packaging.
Bright would always share and let Altessa eat some of the treats he received. He said that he couldn't have finished all of them. Altessa sampled many mouthwatering sweets, such as a moisty chocolate cake dabbed with some icing and caramel, some smooth milky chocolates, and one person even made chocolate pudding.
"You're going to have so many chocolates to give back to on White Day,"murmured Altessa as she chewed away on some chocolate hearts.
Bright laughed and turned a page in his book. "I'll have to find a way so that everyone could get something back."
Altessa grinned. Bright was so generous to everyone. Every year when White Day rolled around, he made sure that every girl received a chocolate, whether or not they sent him one on Valentine's Day. He probably made sure everyone got one.
"Altessa, did you give anything to anyone today?" There was a slight twinkle in Bright's eyes as he spoke.
Altessa panicked within her thoughts. Yes, there had been, but of course she wouldn't tell Bright. She wouldn't tell anyone, in fact. Imagine Bright's reaction if he found out that she sent a chocolate to one of the rivals of her kingdom....
"N-No,"denied Altessa, attempting to force down any sort of emotion that would give her away.
Bright tilted his ahead aside, the dreamy and thoughtful look still playing upon his facial features. "Is that true? Why were you in the kitchen yesterday instead of preparing for the second ball?"
"It's none of your business,"sputtered Altessa.
"I heard from one of the servants that you made a windmill cupcake. It had five spokes, but one of the candied spokes broke off and you settled for four. I wonder...?"
"It's not that!" stammered Altessa, practically red by now. "I just like windmills, that's all! Auraa has nothing to do with this!"
The boy broke out into a round of laughter again. "Altessa,"he replied in a taunting voice, "I never said anything about Prince Auraa."
In defeat, Altessa could feel her mouth drop wide open. As she stared upon Bright's amused expression, she looked away, murmuring,"So you didn't." Though she was slightly surprised at the outcome of her supposedly-secret valentine, she thought to herself what Auraa could be doing right now.
