[February 12] [Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime] Tears of Yesterday
Title: Tears of Yesterday
Day/Theme: February 12 - 12. the chrysanthemum promise
Series: Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime

Altessa's favorite type of flowers were roses. Day after day, she'd tend them as if the plants were her own life. The rosy petals would gleam in the morning sun at dawn, and would shine until the sunset.
One day, Bright came into the garden carrying a pot with a single flower in it. Altessa couldn't place her finger of what it was, and when she asked him, he explained that it was a chrysanthemum; he had saved it from an excavation that was around the kingdom somewhere. He asked her if he could plant it next to her roses, and Altessa obliged; most likely because it was her brother that requested this.
Bright asked her if she could take care of it as well, since he was always busy. Altessa agreed for the same reason why she allowed him to plant the flower next to her roses. Day after day, she watered the chrysanthemum and set it into the sunlight just like her own roses.
The flower blossomed beautifully over the next couple of months, but soon it turned brown and the petals wrinkled. Altessa didn't understand why she had to waste her time taking care of it when obviously it would die. When she showed the aging plant to Bright, Bright said that the life of the chrysanthemum wouldn't end there.
When spring arrived, a new flower sprouted in the chrysanthemum's place. Altessa was amazed at how by keeping her promise to Bright, the flower's generations would continue to live. She never really expected the chrysanthemum to come back.
It was just like life: totally unpredictable.
