[11-Feb-2006] [Original] East Meets West
Title: East Meets West
Theme: At the sight of the ki-lin
Theme: Phoenix Dawn
Characters: Rikayo Darenka, Melody, Alriai Aborin, Phillee
Rating: G
"Suppose that's a unicorn, then?" Melody said, eying the creature in the clearing. "Now, how do we get some hair from it without getting skewered?”
"In Western Human tradition, unicorns are attracted to virgins,” Alri said.
"Sounds simple. Any of us-"
"'Cept me!” Phillee grinned.
"-except Phillee can ask it then.”
"But, in the Eastern Human tradition, kilin only appear to great scholars.” Alri frowned.
"Well, which is it? West or east?” Melody crossed her arms. "You're the folklore expert, Aborin.”
"I don't remember the difference,” Alri said. "There is one, I know. Something to do with looks.”
"I guess we'll have to find someone who is both a scholar and also innocent…” Riki said. "Who do you think-”
He was interrupted when his companions discovered it only took three people to throw one to the unicorns, which just goes to show that even the intelligent can overlook the obvious.
