A helper goddess cleared her throat for attention. "Miss Peorth? Is something wrong?"

"I was thinkeeng of mes amis," Peorth said, "with whom I visited, down upon ze Earth. I rather wish I could have stayed with zem."

The helper goddess pulled a face. "Didn't you say that, in order to return you to Yggdrasil, they shot you out of a self-propelled sixty-centimeter cannon, at over 200 meters per second?"

Peorth giggled. "Yes, I must admit zat zey have strange ways of showing la camaraderie."
