[January 25th] [original: Chinese supernatural] guilty as charged

Title: guilty as charged
Date/Theme: January 25th / From the edge of the deep green sea
Series: original: Chinese supernatural
Character/Pairing: a defendant on trial
Rating: G

This person wishes to state, in answer to the Jade Emperor's charges, that she is fully aware of her fault and will accept whatever judgment is made upon her.

This person is aware of the manifest kindness and indulgence which was shown to her in permitting her to accept a post in the World Below. She has no words that can fully express her sorrow that she has so disappointed her superiors by taking her responsibilities lightly. She is quite aware that the fact that she fulfilled her duties is no mitigation in this case.

This person has no awareness of the current location of her lover --

This person asks again for forgiveness. She is aware that no bond of marriage or intimacy may be implied or took place between the Realms. This person has no awareness of the current location of the human being with whom she associated. This person cannot make any assumptions as to where such a person might have gone, or where they might be hiding.

A child? This person is unaware of the existence of a child.

. . . in answer to the evidence which has been displayed before the Imperial Court, this person is now aware that there might indeed have been a child. She is unaware of the location of such a child. After all, had there been such a child, she would not have been the one who bore it.

This person is unaware of the current situation among the Dragon Thrones.

. . . this person thanks the Imperial Court for their kind and merciful provision of information, but she cannot say that she has had any particular connection with the Dragon Thrones. Naturally she would leave such communication to those more fitted by their rank and position to undertake such commissions.

Shanghai?

Yes, this person is aware of the existence of the city of Shanghai, though to be frank she had not paid it any particular attention. It is somewhat thriving and bustling, but lacks true merit. Or so she is informed.

This person would not describe her attitude as needlessly obstructive. She stands ready to assist the Imperial Court in every way possible, and apologises humbly for her regrettable lack of relevant knowledge.

This person is aware that affection is no excuse for breaking the bonds of filial loyalty, proper duty, and the requirements of her station.

This person expresses her due regret and sorrow for what has occurred, and grieves that the Jade Emperor may have suffered loss or disparagement on account of her humble actions. Truly she had no intention of any such thing.

This person maintains her ignorance.

This person is aware of the consequences.

(This is connected, believe it or not, with the original noir concept that I am vaguely working on.)
