He holds her hand as she navigates them both through the throng of people. She moves with an easy grace that is not easily seen beneath her shy demeanor. Her smile reminds him of the little girl he once saw at the park, smiling up at the red balloon her mother had picked out for her, dreamlike and simply breathtaking.
She is not beautiful, but her vivacity and her kind heart more than make up for it.
Besides, he has a weakness for doe eyes and wide smiles.
They stop at the fruits section and she turns to him, her free hand swinging the basket lazily. And then she opens her mouth to speak.
"Nino? Oranges or apples?"
